From September through December I completed a course on pediatric nutrition and disease management. This course helped teach how to help from the prenatal phase through 18 years. I also learned about different diseases that occur specifically in the pediatric population as well as diseases and conditions that are diagnosed during this time frame.
HandoutsDuring the course, I was required to complete 2 handouts about different diseases. One was a developmental disability, one was a chronic disease. I did one handout on bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD) and another handout on cerebral palsy. They will both be good references if I ever am helping a patient who has one of these conditions.

Case StudiesI completed 2 case studies as part of the course. They each give you a patient, with information about the patient. I then answered questions, as well as filling out growth charts and nutrition care process forms. The second case study also included information about an imagined second visit to allow me the chance to see how things can change in patients.

PresentationFor the final portion of the course, were were asked to create a presentation about a disease. My presentation was on Celiac disease. I created a detailed powerpoint, as well as recorded me giving a 15 minute presentation on Celiac disease.
